Back to Pūraṇāpūraṇābhyāṃ

पूरणापूरणाभ्याम्

Why it works: Pūraṇāpūraṇābhyāṃ

To solve x²+bx=c: recognize b/2b/2, add (b/2b/2)² to both sides → (x+b/2x+b/2)²=c+(b/2)c+(b/2)². Vedic framing sees this as 'completing what is missing to make a perfect square'.

Example Problems

x2+3x10=0x^2+3x-10=0= x=2x = 2, x=5x = -5
x22x2=0x^2-2x-2=0= x=1±3x = 1±\sqrt{3}
